Something Rotten

Something Rotten! is a comedic musical set in 1595 where brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, struggling playwrights overshadowed by the legendary William Shakespeare, consult a soothsayer who predicts the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting simultaneously – a “musical”. Desperate for a hit, they set out to write the world’s first musical, encountering a series of hilarious events, including a misinterpretation of the soothsayer’s prophecy about the Black Death, Nigel falling for a Puritan woman, and an attempt by Shakespeare to steal their ideas.
