Perkins House Concert: Slowey and The Boats

Slowey and the Boats perform Hawaiian-inspired popular music and jazz on a variety of instruments. The band came together in early 2012 when Isaac Stanford recruited some fellow Philadelphia musicians (including David Streim & Freddie Berman from the Amos Lee band) to learn a selection of old steel-guitar instrumentals. In addition to Stanford on steel guitar, the quintet is currently comprised of David Streim on the Wurlitzer or Fender Rhodes, Mike Hlatky on upright bass, Fred Berman on drums, and Brennen Ernst on guitar.
